It is expected that the announcement of the inaugural Prime Minister’s Space Prize and Prime Minister’s Student Space Prize will be made in November or December 2024 at a special event.

The Prime Minister’s Space Prize for Professional Excellence

A professional working in the space sector and/or emerging aviation sector, recognising their outstanding achievements and contribution to the sector, worth $100,000 NZ Dollars.

The Prime Minister’s Space Prize for Student Endeavour

A Year 12 or 13 student who is undertaking or has recently completed a science, technology or engineering project related to the space sector and/or emerging aviation sector, worth $50,000 NZ Dollars.
